Tonopah Football starts 2-0

Duffy Otteson’s Tonopah Muckers football team improved to 2-0 with an impressive 49-30 win in Hawthorne over Mineral County High School.  The high powered Muckers offense racked up 568-yards of total offense.   The two-headed monster of Scotty May and Tanner Otteson keyed the attack.  May ran for 189 yards while Otteson passed for 186 yards with both athletes accounting for 3 touchdowns.

Brendon Eason recorded a team high 17 tackles and a sack while leading the defensive effort.

Next up for Tonopah is a home dual with Pahranagat Valley (Alamo).  The game will be broadcast live on 100.7 KIBS. Richard Reel will have the play by play.

Tonopah dominates Sierra Lutheran

Tonopah downs Sierra Lutheran

The Tonopah Muckers opened the 2015 season with a strong 55-26 win over Sierra Lutheran. The game kicked off the KIBS “High School Football Game of the Week” schedule. Tonopah will be featured three more times in 2015, Friday, September 18th vs Alamo, Friday, September 25th vs Indian Springs and Thursday, October 29th vs. Beaver Dam.

Coach Duffy Otteson remarks after game. Our boys played well but we had a lot of mistakes and we need to work on them. Our Defense was good tonight only allowing 3 First Downs.

Half Time Score was 48 nothing, Junior Varsity played most of the second half.
