Bushling, Broncs Blast Bishop

Kern Valley Varsity teams top Bishop Union

Rival Kern Valley got the best of the Bishop Broncos Tuesday.  Kern Valley’s varsity baseball and softball teams topped Bishop via the 10-run mercy rule.  Bishop exacted a measure of revenge by winning both JV games.  Bishop Union will continue their home stand Friday hosting Rosamond.  The varsity boys game will be live on AM 1230 KBOV and streamed live here on the listen live link.

Varsity Baseball
Kern Valley 15
Bishop Union 3  (5 innings)

Kern Valley’s Zack Bushling hit a 1st inning breaking ball into the trees outside right field, the rest of his day would be a walk in the park.  Bushling’s 2-run home run started a 3-run first inning and set the stage for a KV win.  After allowing Bushling to rattle the tree limbs in the opening inning the Broncos walked him three times, twice walking Zack intentionally…with the bases loaded.  In a move of ultimate respect, or perhaps fear of property damage, the Broncos choose to walk in a run rather then allow the Kern Valley junior a chance to knock in multiple runs.   Following their 3-run first inning KV scored a single run in the 2nd, three more in the 3rd and blew the game open with a 8-run 4th inning effort.
