Duncan and Carson Reid made the trip to Fresno this past Saturday representing Bishop Union High School at the State Cross-Country meet. The Reids qualified for the state meet running in Division 4. Coach Heidi Eldridge indicates the Bronco Duo were two of the 192 runners racing in Division 4. Duncan Reid turned in a time of 16:59, good for 105th and Carson Reid finished in 17:14 good for 122nd.
The state finals were held in Fresno at the 5,000 meter Woodward Park course. JSerra High School’s Andrew Burkhardt won Division 4 with a time of 15:08. Santa Ynez High School boys won the team title for Division 4.

The Bishop Union High School Cross Country team made the short trip to Mammoth Thursday opening their season. Both the Bronco Boys and Girls teams excelled. Mammoth High School hosted Thursday’s dual (the Highway 395 invitational) at Shady Rest Park. Heidi Eldridge is the head coach at Bishop Union and she reports that the team has nearly 30 members this year and “commitment and enthusiasm are second to none!”
Next week the Broncos travel to High Desert League power Rosamond for the Rosamond Invitational. The road trip next week is set for Wednesday, September 30th.

The Bishop Union high school track team traveled to Exeter high school for the CIF central section division 2 championships Wednesday. 32 teams brought hundreds of athletes competing for a chance to advance to the Masters meet. A top three finish garentees a spot in Masters. Bishop Unions 4×400 meter relay team turned in a time of 3:32.07, good for second place. Mendota took first place with a time of 3:30.83. The Bishop Union relay team members are Joey Griego, Logan Stephenson, Carson Reid, and Colin Batchelder. The Broncos knocked four seconds off their qualifying time. The relay team will now advance to the Masters meet next week at Buchanan high school.
