ESTA ROUTE EXPANSION & FARE REDUCTION
Eastern Sierra Transit is making travel between Lone Pine and Bishop a little easier. According to Transit Analyst Jill Batchelder, starting Monday, October 31st, there will be an additional run on the Lone Pine Express route to accommodate those who wish to spend a half a day in Bishop. Three days per week, (Monday, Wednesday, and Friday) the bus will depart Lone Pine McDonalds at 11:45 a.m. with stops in Independence at 12:00 p.m., Big Pine at 12:35 p.m. and arriving in Bishop at 12:55 p.m.
There are now four departure times from McDonalds in Lone pine north to Bishop:
Monday – Friday: 6:15 a.m. – 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Monday, Wednesday, Friday: 11:45 a.m.
There will be three departure times from Vons/Kmart in Bishop south to Lone Pine:
Monday – Friday: 7:00 a.m. – 1:15 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.
Commuting with EST is very economical with 50% off the 10 punch pass. The 10 punch passes have one rate for all passengers including adults, senior, youth, and disabled. The new pass price will go into effect October 31st, through June 30th, 2017.
