Bishop Local Dave Gardner has been promoted by the U.S. Navy to the rank of Lieutenant Commander. Gardner was commissioned as a Naval Officer in May of 2006. In 2009, he was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant where his Maritime Security Squadron 3 Commanding Officer pinned on a set of 70 year old Lieutenant bars that had been worn by Gardner’s Grandfather, Lt. Gordon Lammiman.

Gardner is currently Destroyer Squadron 23 Operations Officer, executing Pacific Partnership 2016 aboard the hospital ship USNS Mercy. Pacific Partnership recently completed it’s final mission stop and is now sailing to Mercy’s home-port of San Diego.
