BUHS Softball competes at Yerington Tournament

Bishop Union Varsity 3-1 at Yerington Tournament

Bishop Union High School softball won their first 3 games at the Yerington Tournament before falling in the finale to the host team.  Bishop Union improves their record to 4-5 and will have a break in action until Tuesday, March 22nd when they play host to Boron.   The Bishop Union Junior Varsity finished action in Yerington with a 2-2 record.

Peyton Tetrick and Bailee Piper both walked and scored.

Coaches Comments, “We had a great weekend with a true team effort for every game. We had a grandslam, minimal offensive strike outs, 2 pitchers combining for two no hitters, minimal defensive errors, and aggressive base running. The coaching staff is very proud of the girls for their performance on the field and their behavior off the field. We are now 4-5 overall and next up is Boron at home on March 22nd.”   Coach Stacy Van Nest

JV Softball
Coach Patty Cummings notes that the JV finished the Yerington Tournament with a 2-2 record moving their overall record to 5-2.  Bishop Union’s JV notched wins over Yerington and Sparks and fell to Fernley and Lowry. On the weekend Drew Dondero was 3 for 9 with a homerun and a double scored 4 runs.

Pitching for the Bronco JV, Selia Amisone struck out 3 and walked 6 and Sam Marcinko struck out 8 walked 4.
