Bishop Union High School boys soccer team made the long road trip to the Fresno area Tuesday for the opening round of the CIF Central Section Les Schwab Division 5 boys soccer championships.  #6 seed Fowler High school played host to the #11 Bishop Broncos.  Fowler started strong with 2 quick goals in route to a 8-1 victory.  Fowler advances to the second round Thursday hosting Rosamond.  Rosamond, champs of the High Desert League, had a bye into the second round.

Coach’s Comments
” Fowler scored two quick goals within the first five minutes of the match. Bishop settled down and held Fowler scoreless for the rest of the opening half.  At the 30 minute mark of the first half senior captain Brian Lemus scored on a nice arching ball to pull Bishop to within one goal.  The second half of the match was a very different story. Fowler scored 6 unanswered goals.”  Coach Peter Thomsen
