Bronco Volleyball 3rd at Yerington

BUHS has strong showing at Yerington Tournament

The Bronco Volleyball performed extremely well at the Yerington tournament.  The tournament played host to 20 highly competitive schools from Nevada and California.

Friday, the Broncos won first place in their pool refusing to drop a single game while going undefeated in all best 2 out of 3 matches.  This put the Broncos  into one of two gold brackets which included all the first and second place teams from each of the 4 pools.

According to Coach Linda Frigerio, “The team continued to perform at a high level on Saturday playing 4 matches.  They lost only one match all weekend to Yerington High School who inched past us in an intense 3 game match to go on to the championship game.  Broncos finished 6-1 and in a 3rd place position, their highest placement yet at the Yerington High School tournament.”

The Coach continued, “The wins came as a result of an entire team effort with the team averaging over 90% serving over the whole weekend, excellent team communication, and a strong desire to compete.  It was an excellent start to this young team’s season!”

The Bishop Union High School Volleyball team will next be in action Wednesday, September 9th hosting Lone Pine.  The JV will begin at 4pm with the Varsity to follow.
