Bishop Police arrest two
According to the Bishop Police department, on May 3, 2015 at 10:02 pm, driver Julio Rangel was stopped for a minor traffic infraction
by a Bishop Police Officer. A passenger was also inside the vehicle at the time of the traffic stop. The vehicle was stopped in the Smart and final parking lot, north main street, Bishop. During the contact, Officers became suspicious of the occupants and a search of the vehicle was conducted. Officers recovered the following amounts of suspected illegal drugs inside the vehicle;
1 Kilogram of Cocaine
3 pounds of Methamphetamine
1.3 pounds of Heroin.
Ramon Anton Perez Figueroa (age 32 of Los Angeles), and Julio Salvador Rangel (age 30 of Los Angeles) were arrested for various drug related charges. Both subjects were transported to the Inyo County Jail, where they are both being held for $250,000.00 bail and waiting arraignment. Charges include, possession of controlled substance, possession of controlled substance for sale, transportation of a controlled substance, conspiracy to commit a crime, possession of a narcotic controlled substance, transportation/sell controlled substance, transportation/sell narcotic between counties, and giving false identification to a police officer.
