August 28, 2015 - August 29, 2015
THE 12TH ANNUAL GHOSTS OF THE SAGEBRUSH
celebrates the 25th anniversary of the history museum in the Old Schoolhouse in Lee Vining.
“BACK TO SCHOOL: A GRAND DAY IN THE PARK” is the theme for the 12th Annual Ghosts of the Sagebrush Event for the Mono Basin Historical Society. Friday August 28 there will be a catered tri-tip dinner at the Lee Vining Community Center, with historic video, raffles, and a “visit from the past,” by school teacher Nora Archer. On Saturday, August 29, activities will run from 10 AM to 4 PM on the grounds of the museum at 129 Mattly Avenue in Hess Park, Lee Vining. There will be old timers’ stories, historic music, a full BBQ lunch, inside guided tours of the famous Upside Down House, and another “visit from the past” by Nellie Bly O’Bryan who built the house, concluding with a video presentation in the theater of the Mono Basin Scenic Area Visitor Center. Tickets are $25 for each event, which is always informative and fun.
