Salvation Army

An Introduction with Lt. Sherry Hooper

Hello my name is Sherry Hooper, and I am the new commanding officer for The Salvation Army here in Bishop.

I started going to the Salvation Army when I was thirteen years old, and fell in love with it. I have served in the ministry through The Assembly’s of God, as well as the Salvation Army.
This past June, after two years of attending the school for officers training, I received my AA in Ministerial, and  Ordination of Pastoral in the Salvation Army.  I am very blessed and count it a privilege to be serving the people of the Bishop community.

KIBS – KBOV Radio and the Bishop Kmart are proud to once again team up with the Salvation Army for the 16th Annual “Coats for Kids” donation drive and the 13th Annual Eastern Sierra Transit “Stuff-A_Bus” holiday food drive! Our Special event live radio broadcast is Saturday, November 23rd in front of Kmart, 10 to 12. Please donate both new or gently used coats for kids of all ages along with non-perishable food items at the Bishop Kmart to help keep our community warm and fed. This Annual event has helped thousands – Please keep the tradition going!
