Bishop Union Baseball and Softball take 3 from Cal City

Bishop Union High school baseball and softball celebrated their seniors Friday with big wins over California City.  The Varsity Baseball and Softball teams honored their senior classes who were playing their final regular season home games.  Baseball won in comeback fashion 10-2, while softball dominated 13-2.  JV softball completed the sweep picking up a 18-4 win.  JV baseball had a bye and will travel to Trona today (Monday, May 9th).  The Broncos will wrap up the regular season on the road this week with trips to Frazier Mt Tuesday and rival Kern Valley Thursday.   The Varsity boys games will be broadcast live on AM 1230 KBOV and streamed live here at through the listen live link.

Down 2-0 after the first inning, the Broncos scored a lone run in the 2nd, took the lead with a 4-run 3rd inning and pulled away with a 5-run 6th inning.  Senior starting pitcher Aaron Chinzi lasted only 1 and 2/3rds before leaving with a shoulder injury.  Freshman Cal Omohundro took over holding the Ravens scoreless.  The victory moves Bishop Union to 3-3 in High Desert League play.
