Riesen Slam Powers Broncos to win

Senior Colton Riesen’s Grand slam helps down Ravens

Bishop Union high school baseball sweeps the season series with California City thanks to a big fly from senior captain Colton Riesen.  In the bottom of the second inning, with Bishop leading 1-0, Riesen knocked the first pitch he saw from Kyle Livingston over the right field wall for grand slam.  Riesen finished the day 2 for 3 driving in 5 runs in the bronco 13-3 win.  Jeremy Fie walked three times, singled and scored 4 runs.  Joe Mayhugh collected an RBI single.  Justin Hollowell went 3 for 3 with two doubles and a single.  Clyde McCoy delivered an RBI single, Peyton Wagoner singled and scored 2 runs.  Sophomore Blake Johnston collected his first varsity HDL single and RBI.

Aaron Chinzi was the winning pitcher striking out 5 in 4 strong innings.  Taylor Brown Steel pitched the final inning.  Bishop has a busy week coming up with home games Tuesday (Frazier Mt.) and Thursday (Rosamond), then a trip to Frazier Mt on Friday.  All bronco varsity games are broadcast live on AM 1230 KBOV and steamed live here at kibskbbov.com.
