Riesen heading to College of Southern Idaho

Bronco signs with CSI

Samantha Riesen, an Independence resident and a senior at Bishop Union High School, recently singed a national letter of intent to play softball at the College of Southern Idaho on a full athletic scholarship.
CSI, located in Twin Falls, is a member of the National Junior College Athletic Association Division I. The Golden Eagles softball team is ranked 7th in the country in the latest NJCAA poll.
Riesen has been playing softball/baseball since age 4. For the past five years she’s played year-round with the Lancaster-based Stealth-Adams Travel Softball Organization. She plays the outfield and second base in addition to pitching for the Stealth, but will focus on pitching at CSI.
She plans to major in exercise science at CSI with a possible minor in psychology, with the intention of becoming a collegiate softball coach. She hopes to play for two seasons at CSI and then continue her career at an NCAA Division I or Division II school.
